Massage Therapists

My Journey:  Jamilah

I developed chronic pain as a pre-teen and struggled with it for decades, through mis-diagnoses and many treatments that offered only temporary relief. In 2015 I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease and began regaining my health. This journey sparked an interest in holistic healing and spiritual growth. I developed a passion for techniques that support the body in healing itself and in relieving chronic pain.  My bodywork style is a unique blend focused on increased mobility, relaxation and client education.

Healing Philosophy

I believe that through taking the time to heal myself, I am influencing the entire world. This belief forms the foundation of my healing practice. When I receive regular bodywork and take the time to be still, I am more grounded and calm, better able to live a heart-centered life. This allows me to impact others in a positive way and to live in greater appreciation of our beautiful world. It is my intention to hold space for you as you explore your healing journey.

Education and Certification

I am licensed massage therapist working in Grand Rapids, MI. Since graduating from the Michigan Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences in 2008, I have attained more than 400 hours of continuing education through several well known institutions. I studied Trigger Point Massage with Amber Davies , CranioSacral Therapy and Somato Emotional Release through The Upledger Institute, MyoFascial Release through John F. Barnes MyoFascial Release Approach and Vodder-Style Manual Lymph Drainage through The MLD Institute Int'l.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, certified in Yoga Tune-Up and Mindful Vinyasa instruction as well as a certified personal trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association.

Professional and Versatile

We have had the honor of seeing many people for their first bodywork session.  It is our intention to create a safe, open atmosphere so that you receive what it is you are seeking.

Clients privately disrobe to their comfort level, or change into appropriate clothing for the selected treatment (such as a bathing suit for MyoFascial Release).  You may bring your own music on an i-pod to listen to during the session, or listen to the music that we provide. We want you to be comfortable.
